Autumn 2020 Newsletter

Read the Autumn newsletter which includes details of sites looking for new surveyors for both the Wetland Birds Survey (WeBS) and Breeding Birds Survey (BBS). Take a look and see if there are any sites near you that you would like to survey.

Also there’s a plea to get involved in recording your garden birds through the year, via the Garden Birdwatch scheme. This is currently revealing some interesting changes in Bullfinch and Siskin abundance in gardens.

There’s also a heart warming story of the rescue and release of two very cute House Martin chicks, a species that is becoming increasingly rare in Surrey. Come spring, please do keep a look out for them nesting in eaves and do all you can to protect these vital nesting sites.
